GEOCAKES was created in 2012 following the realization of the potential of the knowledge of the people, the recipes and the quality of the region's endogenous products, in order to satisfy the needs of the market, guided by the use of material and immaterial resources (for the most part) of the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
We prioritize:
Local partnerships, as long as they share our ideals and quality standards;
Products of excellence, preferably endogenous, in essence, whenever possible in their purest state; such as fruits with skin in preserves;
Recipes that respect, promote and elevate the traditions of the cultural identity of the local community;
Culinary techniques that honor and highlight the potential of traditional ingredients and recipes;
Ancestral/traditional recipes and flavors that could also be the target of innovation, and together, be made available to different market segments.
The preservation of natural, cultural and environmental resources, and the elevation of the rural world are principles of GEOCAKES:
At the production process level, waste management is carried out based on waste separation, promoting a more promising future;
Energy production is currently mostly carried out through renewable sources, such as solar energy for electricity and water heating;
We believe in the Rural World and the potential of the territory, so we develop packaging that promotes and disseminates a positive image of the countryside and the municipality chosen to live and establish the business, sometimes based on the ideals of social, cultural and environmental sustainability;
Organic certification (Organic Production Method - Plants and plant products, certificate no. AB3472UP202006251 :: Industrialized products, certificate no. AB1004UT202007011);
The use of our endogenous resources is not simply about economic aspects, but rather, and above all, the defense and protection of ancestral knowledge that is part of the region's culture, and this use is symbiotically related to partnerships with stakeholders.
